We run a range of classes for adults covering all different levels of comprehension and ability. The majority of our adult classes run for 2 hours each week for a period of 10 weeks (20-hour course in total).

Depending on COVID Alert Levels, we might have to move our classes on Zoom. See our COVID-19 information page for more details.

For levels A1, A2, B1, B2 & C1.

For total beginners (A1.1) see the section below!

Our curriculum targets the systematic acquisition of grammar skills as a way to ensure long term development from language learning. While following this step-by-step approach, our skilled native French speaking teachers make a point of encouraging communication in French, as well as creating a lively atmosphere in the classroom. Even beginner level students find themselves exchanging in French from the first class!

The adult classes at the Alliance Française Wellington are typically run once a week in the mornings (10:00am – 12:00pm), lunchtime (conversation) and in the evenings (6:00pm – 8:00pm).

If this is your first time studying French with Alliance Française Wellington, you will need to take a

Free Level Assessment before you enrol.

By joigning one of our courses for complete beginners, you will learn the vocabulary and grammar structures required to:
