Wellington at Alert Level 2 - Updated 7 September 2021

Following the change in alert levels in Wellington, and after careful consideration, we have decided to keep all our current adult classes online via Zoom until further notice. Your teachers will send you the link to Zoom via email and will be liaising with you and answering your questions.

Private lessons will be offered onsite but also available via Zoom. We will contact students for their preference.

All our children and teen classes will resume on site from Thursday 9 September with appropriate measures. Children will not be required to wear a face covering in class, although it is recommended for those over 12 years of age. We ask that only one parent come in at a time to accompany their child/children. As per the Government recommendation for schools, kids, teens and teachers do not need to physically distance in class. But parents, carers and whānau who visit the Alliance should try to keep 2 metres apart from people who are not part of their bubble.

Our library will be open to the public from Thursday 9 September with appropriate measures in place. Please know, all items currently checked out will be automatically renewed for 3 weeks.

When visiting Alliance Française Wellington:

- Wear a face covering
- Scan in or sign in
- Keep a safe distance from others

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Virtual classes are set up in order to maintain your personal connection to your teacher. We recommend downloading the free Zoom software here for the best experience.

Benefits of Virtual Classes

  1. Privacy: If you don’t like being on camera, you can shut off the video setting at any time. You can also choose a virtual background on Zoom.

  2. Constant support: You can communicate with your teacher through Padlet for homework and extra activities.

  3. Convenience: Online classes can happen right from home!
