French Classes for Children

At Alliance Française Wellington, it's never too early to start learning French! Children are given the opportunity to be immersed in French through a variety of fun courses and activities from as early as the age of 2.

Please note that ages are indicative only. Children can also be placed in groups according to their level in French. If your child has prior knowledge of French, contact us for a level assessment.

Research shows that children between the ages of 1–10, who learn a second language in addition to their native tongue, have a higher success rate in future academia. Children in this age range have more ability and succedd in learning a second language, rather than those who start later in life.

At Alliance Française Wellington, we believe that the ability to speak a second (or even a third) language is one of the keys to success in our global world. Opening your children’s life to a second language will not only broaden understanding and acceptance of other cultures but also improve comprehension in English.

French is one of the most popular and widely spoken European languages in the world, and the renowned Alliance Française Wellington is the best place to immerse your child in an enjoyable, rich and varied French cultural and language program.

See our Course Outline to learn more about our levels and what they include. The exact schedule for a level may change from term to term. Please contact us for details.
